I’m a 42 year old woman with size 5 feet and finally bought my first pair of Vans. I initially ordered a womans size 5 and kids size 3 and ultimately preferred the kids size 3 since they seemed less floppy-duck-foot-like than the adult version. These have a slightly narrower profile which I like. Classy style too! The heel could have a little more cushion in it, but still comfortable. More support than Toms.

We bought the stars stripes for my 4 yr old and added a wonder woman patch to the front to accommodate her current obsession. They were a little difficult/tight for her to slide her foot in initially. She was convinced the shoe was too small, but it was just a smaller opening than she’s used to. Once she learned how to “stomp” her foot in she was fine and the fit was good.

I wanted a pair of slip on sneakers for my son to wear in the summer. He has slightly wide feet, and the elastic on these didn’t stretch enough for him to even get his foot in. I realize they are probably made intentionally that way to avoid the shoe slipping off, but it’s just not enough give. I already went up 1/2 a size, I think a larger size would just be too long (the length looked roomy enough when I held it up to the bottom of his foot). Wish they had a wide width option, or better stretch at the tongue.

We got the vans with the fishes on them- they fit beautifully …For some reason these are super hard to get on my 4yr old too tight around the elastic part at the top of the foot. They won’t slip on even with thin sock we order vans regularly too. They are going back for a different style.

The opening is not wide enough to get the foot into the shoe. It seems like the elastic should give more because it is too tight right now.

Same as others are saying: ordered these for my 9-year-old son every year without any issue, but this year he’s complaining that the 3.5 is too tight across his foot. Okay, ordered the 4 and he’s slopping around in them. He hates tying his shoes (autism, sensory and dexterity issues), and now I don’t know what to buy for him. Why would Vans change the sizing suddenly, if that’s the case? Doesn’t make any sense to me.

These were so adorable but my son couldn’t even get his foot in them. They are narrow and not for kids with any width to their feet. Too bad! Had to return

I wear a lot of Vans slip-ons and I got my son these. They are just like adult vans, only smaller. They were too narrow for him, but he has wide feet.

We ordered my son’s size and he couldn’t even get his foot in. He clearly has wider feet than normal but these shoes run very narrow. They looked a whole size smaller. Cute looking though.

These are awful, and I am sending them back. Neither of my kids could fit there foot inside the shoe! We couldn’t even get them on because the opening to put your foot in is too small! We ordered a 13.5 kids. My kids were a 13 and a 12. So disappointed:(

Can’t go wrong with the classics! These are a little narrow so my kid took a little time getting his foot in, we ended sizing up to accommodate for the narrowness but the style is great and overall an easy kid shoe due to no laces or Velcro.

Very affordable, cute, and true to size

Love the Vans slip ons. Bought the checkerboard in black and white for a 6 yr old. She loves them and they go with everything. Will be ordering more colors.

Very unhappy with purchase. After less than 2 weeks wearing them to school only one top side of the shoe is completely wore away. My child’s feet were a perfect fit with room to grow so I know it wasn’t due to being a size too small. My other son received a different pair of vans and have held up great so this style must be defective. I’d like a replacement pair.

These shoes are so cute that I’ll keep them even though my kid will probably outgrow them soon. I bought size 13, which match up exactly with the size of his size 12 Target shoes (the red one in pic).

Really great shoes, but I had to return and buy a pair one size larger for my 8 year old son (who wears a size 1 in any other shoe). They run VERY narrow, so he couldn’t even begin to fit his foot into the first pair. GREAT shoes otherwise though!

My 5 year old son, whose foot is an 11.5 and has pretty narrow feet and ankles (and very skinny legs) cannot even get his foot in these shoes. It’s absurd. The opening is way too small. He loves them, because my husband has the grown up version, so i decided to keep them and cut out the elastic. Once I did he was able to shimmy his foot in to them, and the shoes did fit. But it wouldn’t be reasonable to try to pry his foot in to these shoes before school every morning. I LOVE Vans but I wouldn’t buy these again (and wish I hadn’t bought them to begin with.)

I’m giving up on vans. My son usually wears 11 (“big kid”). I ordered an 11 and an 11.5. And something’s messed up – the 11.5 is actually smaller than the 11 (see photo – the 11.5 is the shoe on the right. 11 is on the left)! I couldn’t manage to even cram his foot into either so I’m returning them all and will try a different brand that’s more consistent.

I love buying kids sized vans because it’s cheaper than adult vans. I am normally a size 5.5 in women’s vans so size 4 fits me perfectly! After breaking them in, these shoes are super comfy and easy to slip on. I have repurchased these shoes over 3 times.
Jacquie –
Our kid has worn the checkered Vans slip-ons since she was a baby. She’s seven now, and she just crossed over from the Toddler sizes to her first Little Kid sized pair. But we ended up having to return them. The Little Kid sizes feature less elastic, and the opening was so narrow, she couldn’t get her foot into the shoe. She was really bummed – these had been her favorite shoes for as long as she could remember.
Mandy –
These shoes are awesome. Every member of our family has them in varying colors. They do run a bit small though.

These shoes are so cute! They were a gift for my nephew, he usually wears a 1 and we ended up getting him a two since they are a little narrow. I would definitely buy one size up from your regular size

My 8 year old loves these shoes. Vans run a bit small so keep that in mind. This was our second pair so we knew how to order the right size.

I bought them for my 14 year old. Her size 4’s fit perfectly so they are true to size as well as she loves the checkerboard. Buy them! Hope this helped.
