Decent choice if you’re looking for a casual shoe to wear. Wouldn’t recommend for skating, running, etc. Sole looks rubber on the sides but is dense foam. Outsole is rubber though. Shoes do have tongue straps and insoles have a bit of arch support. If you like the look of the Old Skool but need for support and comfort, go with these.

If you are wanting to get the Old Skools I highly highly recommend the ComfyCushes instead of the originals. There is a nice squish to the sole–not a TON of support but honestly it is comfortable for my flat feet. The backs of the shoes are also much squishier and don’t cut in to your ankles. The profile and size of the shoe is about the same. I really love mine, I do a lot of walking at work and they are great. I swapped out the laces for elastic stretchies so I can just pull them on and go.

Love the comfy factor. Nice to have the support — that said, count me among the sad peeps regarding the narrower cut and change of “last”. Tried my size, were too tight. Went up a half size, too long / didn’t fit right. Sadly, now looking to other brands. Do hope Vans sorts it out with the comfy models. Love the feel, just can’t work the fit.
Quinn –
These are great! My son loves vans, but the regular style hurt his feet. These have nice arch support, and a removable insole. He loves the style and I love that he’s comfortable.
Jimmy –
Much better than the previous “LITE” model. Gum soles give just enough traction & doesn’t wear out fast. Regular Vans are stylish but too heavy and uncomfortable. These are the perfect cross line. However they do tend to run a bit narrow so if you have wide feet go up a size.
Sue –
There’s not much in the way of an arch support if that’s what you’re looking for, but that said, these are the fantastic Vans I wore out 15+ years ago. So comfortable like walking on air. Love them! Worth every penny. Way to go Vans.

I got a size 8.5 in women and while they are really comfortable and I like them a lot I should have gotten a 9 which is what I usually wear a 8 1/2 to 9. They are really cushioned but I feel like because I didn’t get my normal size im going to have to break them in a little I also have wide feet so I think if I got them half a size bigger everything would be great. But overall I like them they are stylish and cute. And once I break them in they gonna feel like butter
Andrea –
They are super, usually vans are uncomfortable at first, but these are comfortable from the beginning and lightweight ?
Valerie –
fits a little snug ordered the womens size 6. Love the shoe but the front of the right shoe is smashed down and has a big crease in the rubber part. I did reorder and the 2nd pair is fine.

Fits perfectly

I just these and I can’t wait for my next pair already. These are so comfortable.
Lana –
These shoes are great. They look nice and fit well in length. But they were a little too narrow for me.
Gabriella –
Was super excited to try the ComfyCush style. I’ve worn Vans for 15 years and have been a true 5.5M/7W ever since, but unfortunately, these are extremely tight over the top of my foot. I do have a somewhat wide foot, but have never had a problem with Vans. Very disappointed.
The shoe had also obviously been returned as the right foot was full of hair. Was rather gross, but nothing a vacuum couldn’t fix.
Lisa –
There was nothing comfy or cushy about these. I ordered a half size larger in reference to some reviews about the width being too small, so the length was fine, but there isn’t nearly enough room in the toe area. Side toes rubbed on the shoe and they were very uncomfortable. Kind of heavy and bulky. Will try something else.
Stacie –
Comfycush is the way to go. I have old skool style as well and wish that I had ordered them in this style. Comfycush is way lighter and not as stiff as original.
Robert –
Very stylish, however not as comfy as the name implies. Felt a strain in my plantar fascia after walking in just a few minutes. If you’re looking for comfort I do not recommend these, instead opt for the Old Skool Pros. Those are much more comfortable and have thicker padding on the footbed.
Crismarie –
I love it!!!! Perfect fit, great material. I can wear them all day and they don’t bother me at all.

Be specific about your likes and dislikes. How was the fit and size? What does the material feel like? How awesome (or not) do you feel wearing them?

I found these shoes very comfortable for all day wear. I ended up taking out the shoe laces and just wearing them without. There is elastic in the tongue that keeps the shoe secure to my foot. I have thrown them. in the washer 2 times… so far (knowing this not the best thing to do for shoes). They are still kicking.
Maxine –
The fit was fine and I loved the style, but in the heels of the shoes there was a seam that caused much discomfort as it rubbed on the heel of my foot. I tried wearing them around my house for periods of time thinking perhaps I would be able to sort of break them in. Unfortunately that did not work and I am returning them. In the attached photo, the aqua colored line inside the heel shows the seam that rubs and causes discomfort.

These are super cute and make my size 11’s look small(er). My daughter says that they eventually break in but BAYBEEEEE my heels were on fire. I wasn’t in excruciating pain (not quite blisters), but it was an uncomfortable day for sure. Maybe they’ll be worth it eventually, but for now my Converse are still 10’s in my book!
Sherene –
I love these Vans. They are comfortable
Rockin M –
i’m an amputee so it take a certain shoe to feel right when walking, and the comfy cush vans are amazing!
Red R –
This was my go to shoe , unfortunately I was told that you are going to discontinue this product and I couldn’t be more bummed!!!
Sad F –
Been wearing Vans since the early 80s. Die hard loyal. I’m older now, still skate, but the old flat soles hurt.
PROBLEM: you introduced Comfy Cush Slip-On’s available in Custom styles (I ordered a bunch), and then you removed them from the custom shop. WHY???
Will you be returning them to customs??? So many people want them.
