I need flat, zero-drop shoes for casual everyday wear. I used to love wearing Vans, but my feet have grown wider over the years and now they’re too narrow. I thought the Authentic Wide might work — sadly, it does not.
If you have a D-width foot, these shoes might be perfect for you. My 2E (female) feet are just too wide for them. Also would’ve liked a bit more cushioning for my (ahem!) older feet.
As wide shoes go, these really aren’t very wide. As you can see in the pics, these are about a “pinky toe” too narrow for my feet.
It’s my understanding that shoe companies including Vans are making shoes smaller to save on costs and maximize their profits. Unfortunately, we consumers are the ones who pay the price in cramped toes, cramped feet, deformities like bunions, and other foot ills like plantar fasciopathy.

The shoe itself was of fine quality. However, it was not wide enough–my foot was bursting out the side of the shoe’s sole. According to a measuring device, I’m an EEE wide; so perhaps, shouldn’t be a surprise. If you are an ever-so slightly wide/E size, I can picture this fitting.

I wear these nearly everyday casually and for work. I’m on my feet 10-12 hours with no foot fatigue. These shoes look.grwat and feel great.

Fit and size was great.
However, I’ve been wearing them for 6 weeks. They are worn through at the ball of the foot/toes, the sides are nearly detached, and the canvas is bleached to an almost red color.

Grew up a vans guy. But being a big dude with wide feet, the vans would hurt my feet after all day shenanigans. I’d had to size up for comfort, now I don’t with the wides! I hope vans will make the cush comfort in wide!

As someone who usually wears 4E wide shoes, the Vans Wides are not really wide enough for me, but they’re a step in the right direction. Historically I wear a half size up in Vans. The wides allow me to wear a half size down (so true to size for me) to achieve about the same width fit as my old Vans, but at a more appropriate length front to back, so I don’t have to tie the shoes so tight.

When I was younger Vans were so narrow I always had to get them oversized and the arch was in the wrong place. But now with the wide version of Vans, they fit perfectly.

I just ordered the blk/wht colorway, and I have worn the blk/blk pair consistently for a year. I have very wide feet and they’re super duper comfy. I wish some of the seasonal colors were made available in a wide fit, but otherwise no complaints.
